THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BUFFALO HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  515 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS......
 
IN  NEW YORK
 
   ...ERIE COUNTY
 
AND THE ADJACENT WATERS OF THE GREAT LAKES
 
AT 420 PM BUFFALO RADAR INDICATED A TORNADO OVER THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF
ERIE COUNTY NEAR ANGOLA. THE STORM WAS MOVING TOWARD THE NORTHEAST AT 30
MILES AN HOUR AND WILL BE HEADING TOWARD THE TOWNS OF HAMBURG AND
ORCHARD PARK DURING THE NEXT HOUR.
 
BE ON THE ALERT FOR TORNADOES OR THUNDERSTORMS ACCOMPANIED BY
FREQUENT LIGHTNING...STRONG DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL.  LOCALLY
HEAVY RAIN MAY ALSO CAUSE DRAINAGE FLOODING.
 
IF THREATENING WEATHER APPROACHES GO TO THE BASEMENT OR AN INTERIOR
ROOM OR HALLWAY AND GET UNDER A STURDY PIECE OF FURNITURE.  MOBILE
HOMES AND AUTOS OFFER LITTLE SHELTER FROM TORNADOES.
 
THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM SITUATION.  ACT QUICKLY.  IF YOU ARE
IN THE PATH OF THIS TORNADO MOVE TO A SHELTER BELOW GROUND IF
AVAILABLE.  OTHERWISE...GO TO A SMALL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST
FLOOR POSSIBLE.  AVOID> WINDOWS.  ABANDON CARS AND MOBILE HOMES
FOR A REINFORCED BUILDING OR GET INTO A DITCH OR CULVERT.
