IN NORTHWEST LOWER MICHIGAN ...WESTERN ANTRIM COUNTY...LEELANAU COUNTY AND FOR MARINE INTERESTS ON COASTAL WATERS FROM.. ...NORTH PORT TO CHARLEVOIS INCLUDING GRAND TRAVERSE BAY... AT 655 PM EDT... WEATHER RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM JUST WEST OF LELAND...20 MILES NORTHWEST OF TRAVERSE CITY. THIS STORM WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AT 35 MPH AND WILL MOVE THROUGH THE COMMUNITY OF NORTHPORT BY 710 PM AND NORWOOD IN ANTRIM COUNTY BY 730 PM. RESIDENTS CAN EXPECT WIND GUSTS TO 60 MPH AND VERY HEAVY RAIN WITH THE PASSAGE OF THIS STORM. BOATERS SHOULD SEEK SAFE HARBOR IMMEDIATELY!! THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH YOU SHOULD PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...AND DEADLY LIGHTNING. PEOPLE OUTSIDE SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER... PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING *BUT STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
