THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ABERDEEN HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  930 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES.......
 
IN NORTHEAST SOUTH DAKOTA
 
   ...CENTRAL SPINK COUNTY
 
...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR SOUTHERN SPINK COUNTY HAS BEEN
CANCELED...
 
AT 850 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A POSSIBLE TORNADO IN
CENTRAL SPINK COUNTY 5 MILES EAST OF REDFIELD OR 40 MILES SOUTH OF
ABERDEEN.  THE TORNADO IS MOVING NORTH AT 5 MPH AND WILL AFFECT THE
COMMUNITIES OF ATHOL AND ASHTONWITH IN THE NEXT 20 MINUTES.
 
IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS TORNADO...YOU SHOULD GO TO A BASEMENT
SHELTER IF AVAILABLE. OTHERWISE GO TO A CENTRAL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE
LOWEST FLOOR POSSIBLE. CARS AND MOBILE HOMES SHOULD BE ABANDONED FOR
A REINFORCED BUILDING.
 
THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM SITUATION.  ACT QUICKLY.  IF YOU ARE
IN THE PATH OF THIS TORNADO MOVE TO A SHELTER BELOW GROUND IF
AVAILABLE.  OTHERWISE...GO TO A SMALL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST
FLOOR POSSIBLE.  AVOID WINDOWS.  ABANDON CARS AND MOBILE HOMES
FOR A REINFORCERD BUILDING OR GET INTO A DITCH OR CULVERT.
