SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL  700 PM MST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL ARIZONA
 
   ...EASTERN PIMA COUNTY...SANTA CRUZ COUNTY
 
AT 550 PM MST THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM AND FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR
EASTERN PIMA COUNTY AND SANTA CRUZ COUNTY WAS EXTENDED TO 7:00 PM MST.
 
HEAVY RAINFALL AND STRONG GUSTY WINDS ARE STILL OCCURRING IN EASTERN
PIMA AND SANTA CRUZ COUNTIES.
 
REPORTS OF STRONG WINDS AND FLOODED WASHES WITH AS MUCH AS THREE FEET
OF WATER IN THEM NEAR TUCSON ESTATES.  WIND GUSTS TO 53 MPH HAVE OCCURREAT TUCSON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
 
THESE ARE A DANGEROUS STORMS.  IF YOU ARE IN THEIR PATH YOU SHOULD
PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...LARGE HAIL...
DEADLY LIGHTNING AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.  IF OUTSIDE...MOVE TO A
SHELTER OR INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING...BUT STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
