THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MINNEAPOLIS HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1115 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN
 
   ...DUNN COUNTY...PEPIN COUNTY
 
AT 10 25 PM...RADAR INDICATED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM PRODUCING
STRONG WINDS MOVING THROUGH THE CENTRAL PORTIONS OF ST CROIX AND
PIERCE COUNTY...VERY NEAR THE COMMUNITIES OF ELLSWORTH AND NEW
RICHMOND...ABOUT 20 MILES WEST TO SOUTHWEST OF MENOMONIE.
 
THE STORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 35 TO 40 MILES AN HOUR AND WILL
BE NEARING THE TOWN OF MENOMONIE AND DURAND BY 1045 PM. THESE
ARE VERY DANGEROUS STORMS AND ARE CAUSING SEVERE PROPERTY
DAMAGE AS THEY ROLLED ACROSS EAST CENTRAL MINNESOTA EARLIER.
 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND...LARGE HAIL...
DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.  FOR YOUR PROTECTION
MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM.  PEOPLE IN MOBILE HOMES SHOULD GO
TO A STORM SHELTER.
