THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN EVANSVILLE HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  845 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHEAST ILLINOIS
 
   ...WHITE COUNTY
 
AT 645 PM CDT...RADAR INDICATED A THUNDERSTORM PRODUCING VERY HEAVY RAIN
30 MILES WEST OF EVANSVILLE NEAR CARMI IN SOUTHEAST ILLINOIS. THE
THUNDERSTORM HAD BECOME NEARLY STATIONARY. REPORTS FROM THE CARMI
SHERIFFS DEPARTMENT STATED THAT NUMEROUS STREETS IN THE CARMI AREA WERE
FLOODED AND RAPIDLY BECOMING IMPASSABLE. IF YOU LIVE IN THE CARMI
AREA...OR SURROUNDING TOWNS IN WHITE COUNTY...BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO
HIGHER GROUND SHOULD FLOODING OCCUR.
 
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
