THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN ANTONIO HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  915 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
 
IN SOUTH TEXAS
 
   ...ATASCOSA COUNTY
 
THE ATACOSA COUNTY SHERIFFS OFFICE REPORTED SEVERAL LOW-WATHER CROSSING
IN THE COUNTY CLOSED. PART OF HIGHWAY 281 IN PLEASNTON WAS CLOSED WITH 2
FEET OF WATER OVER THE ROAD.
 
WEATHER RADAR SHOWED VERY HEAVY RAINFALL OVER ATASCOSA WILSON AND FRIO
COUNTIES.  THESE STORMS HAVE NOT MOVED MUCH IN THE LAST HOUR.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IMMINENT.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY
TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT TO ESCAPE
RISING WATER DURING THREATENING RbAINS.
 
AVOID ALREADY FLOODED AREAS.  TRAVELERS SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS FLOODED ROADS.  IF YOUR VEHICLE STALLS...LEAVE IT AND MOVE
