FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  330 AM MST
FOR THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTHEAST ARIZONA
 
   ...GRAHAM COUNTY...GREENLEE COUNTY...  INCLUDING THE TOWNS OF
CLIFTON-MORENCI...SAFFORD...DUNCAN...FORT THOMAS... AND HIGHWAYS
666...70...AND 75 RUNNING THROUGH THESE COUNTIES.
 
VERY HEAVY RAIN WHICH HAD BEEN FALLING OVER THE SOUTHEAST ARIZONA
COUNTIES OF PIMA AND SANTA CRUZ WAS BEGINNING TO SPREAD
NORTHEASTWARD INTO GRAHAM COUNTY AT 1015 PM AND EVENTUALLY INTO
GREENLEE COUNTY.
 
HEAVY RAIN ON THE ORDER OF 1 TO 3 INCHES IS LIKELY TO FALL BETWEEN
1030 PM AND 330 AM MONDAY WHICH MAKES IT VIRTUALLY CERTAIN THAT MANY
STREAMS...WASHES...AND ROADWAYS WILL SUFFER SOME DEGREE OF FLOOD OR
FLASH FLOODING.
 
MOTORISTS AND RESIDENTS IN GRAHAM AND GREENLEE COUNTIES SHOULD REMAIN
ALERT FOR THE LIKELY HOOD OF FLOODING.
 
 
FLASH FLOODING IS ALREADY HAPPENING OR ABOUT TO HAPPEN. MOVE AWAY
FROM STREAMS OR WASHES. HEAD FOR HIGHER GROUND. IF ON THE HIGHWAY
SLOW DOWN AND KEEP A SHARP LOOKOUT AHEAD FOR FLOODING.
 
FLASH FLOODING IS MOST DANGEROUS IN THE MOUNTAINS...ALONG STREAMS...
AND IN NARROW STEEP WALLED CANYONS. MANY DEATHS HAVE RESULTED WHEN
MOTORISTS TRIED TO OUTRACE A FLOOD IN THESE CANYONS. CLIMB TO SAFETY
IF A FLOOD DEVELOPS.
