SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  815 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTH NEW JERSEY
 
   ...ATLANTIC COUNTY...CAPE MAY COUNTY...CUMBERLAND COUNTY
 
AND THE ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS
 
AT 705 PM WEATHER SERVICE RADAR DETECTED A LINE OF SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS ABOUT TO ENTER DELAWARE BAY. THESE STORMS HAVE A HISTORY
OF PRODUCING STRONG GUSTY WINDS...HAIL...TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS AND
DEADLY LIGHTNING. THESE STORMS SHOULD MOVE INTO EXTREME SOUTHERN NEW
JERSEY BETWEEN 7 AND 8 PM.
 
THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AT 30 MILES AN HOUR.
 
 
WHEN THUNDERSTORMS ARE OCCURRING...PEOPLE SHOULD MOVE INSIDE A
STRONG BUILDING.  DO NOT STAND BY WINDOWS.  DON'T USE TELEPHONES
OR ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES UNLESS IN AN EMERGENCY UNTIL THE STORM
HAS PASSED.  MOTORISTS SHOULD NOT DRIVE INTO LOW WATER CROSSINGS.
 
A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA.  REMEMBER
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES
WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING.  REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO
RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.
