THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PHILADELPHIA HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  715 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTH NEW JERSEY
 
   ...SALEM COUNTY
 
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
FOR SALEM COUNTY NEW JERSEY.
 
AT 627 PM EDT RADAR IN ATLANTIC CITY WAS TRACKING A THUNDERSTORM MOVING
THROUGH NEW CASTLE COUNTY DELAWARE. THIS THUNDERSTORM HAS DROPPED
SOME QUARTER INCH HAIL AT THE GREATER WILMINGTON AIRPORT BUT THE CENTER
OF THE STORM WAS SOUTH OF THE AIRPORT.
 
THE STORM WAS MOVING EAST AT 40 TO 45 MPH AND WILL BE ENTERING SALEM
COUNTY NEW JERSEY WITHIN THE NEXT 20 MINUTES AND MAY CAUSE STRONG
WINDS AND DELIVER MUCH LARGER HAIL AND OF COURSE LIGHTNING.
 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 55 MILES PER HOUR...
LARGE HAIL...AND DEADLY LIGHTNING.  IF THREATENING WEATHER SUDDENLY
APPROACHES YOU...BOATERS SHOULD BE PREPARED TO MOVE TO SAFE HARBOR.
IF CAUGHT OUT ON THE OPEN WATER...STAY BELOW DECK...IF POSSIBLE...AND
AWAY FROM UNGROUNDED METAL OBJECTS.
