000 TTAA00 KNYC 152148 SVRNYC NYC119-152230- BULLETIN - EBS ACTIVATION REQUESTED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE NEW YORK NY 548 PM EDT WED JUL 15 1992 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW YORK HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 630 PM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION... IN SOUTHEAST NEW YORK ...NORTHERN WESTCHESTER COUNTY SKYWARN SPOTTERS REPORTED DAMAGING WIND GUSTS...HEAVY RAIN AND HAIL WITHIN THE TOWNSHIP OF CORTLAND AT 535 PM. THIS SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WAS PART OF A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS WHICH CONTINUED TO STRADDLE THE PUTNAM/WESTCHESTER COUNTY BORDER. THEREFORE THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR NORTHERN WESTCHESTER COUNTY HAS BEEN EXTENDED. THIS LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO MOVE EAST AT ABOUT 35 MILES AN HOUR. THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM. IF YOU ARE IN ITS PATH YOU SHOULD PREPARE FOR DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 58 MPH...LARGE HAIL...AND DEADLY LIGHTNING. PEOPLE OUTSID E SHOULD MOVE TO A SHELTER... PREFERABLY INSIDE A STRONG BUILDING BUT STAY AWAY FROM WINDOWS.
