THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ROCHESTER MN HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING         EFFECTIVE UNTIL  400 AM CST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHEAST MINNESOTA
 
   ...HOUSTON COUNTY
 
THUNDERSTORMS CONTAINING VERY HEAVY RAIN AND SMALL HAIL HAVE PRODUCED
SIGNIFICANT RAINFALL AMOUNTS THIS EVENING. HOUSTON COUNTY SHERIFF
REPORTS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING AT THE BEAVER CREEK AT COUNTY ROAD 1
NEAR BEAVER STATE PARK AND THAT VERY HEAVY RAIN HAS CAUSED PONDING OF
WATER IN MANY LOW-LYING AREAS. AT 1055 PM RADAR INDICATED THAT VERY
HEAVY RAIN IS CONTINUING MAINLY ACROSS THE SOUTHERN PORTION OF THE
COUNTY.
 
...SOME TOWNS INCLUDED IN THIS WARNING ARE CALEDONIA...HOUSTON AND
SPRING GROVE.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
