THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ST LOUIS HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  745 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI
 
   ...MADISON COUNTY
 
AT 245 AM...RADAR CONTINUED TO DETECT A LARGE AREA OF SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS EXTENDING FROM ARKANSAS NORTHWARD INTO SOUTH CENTRAL
MISSOURI TO SOUTHWEST OF THE ST. LOUIS METRO AREA. THE HEAVIEST
BAND OF RAINS EXTENDED FROM WAYNE COUNTY...NORTHWARD INTO SOUTHWESTERN
MADISON COUNTY. THE PRECIPITATION WAS MOVING NORTH NORTHEAST AT 15 MPH.
 
AS THE GROUND IS ALREADY SATURATED FROM SATURDAY NIGHTS RAIN AS WELL AS
STREAMS ALREADY AT BANKFULL...ADDITIONAL RAINFALL EXPECTED THIS MORNING
WILL CAUSE FLASH FLOODING TO OCCUR.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEP\TH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
