THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN EUREKA CHAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  900 PM PST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS......

IN NORTHWEST CALIFORNIA

   ...MENDOCINO COUNTY

THE MENDOCINO COUNTY OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES REPORTS THAT
THE MAST DAM ON CAHTO CREEK WEST OF LAYTONVILLE IS OVERFLOWING THIS
MORNING. ADDTIONAL HEAVY RAIN MAY CAUSE THE DAM TO BREACH.. IN WHICH
CASE THE TOWN OF LAYTONVILLE COULD EXPERIENCE FLASH FLOODING.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING IS IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF MENDOCINO COUNTY THROUGH
8 PM TONIGHT. THE SNOWFALL TO 2000 FEET EARLIER THIS WEEK HAS MELTED
AND WHEN COUPLED WITH THE HEAVY OVERNIGHT RAINS IN MENDOCINO COUNTY
HAS PUSHED MANY OF STREAMS UP. HEAVY RAINS ARE EXPECTED THROUGH
THE EVENING AS WARM TROPICAL MOISTURE FLOW CONTINUES INTO NORTHERN
CALIFORNIA.


DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
