THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1245 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTY

   IN THE EXTREME EAST PART OF IOWA
      CEDAR

AT 1115 AM CDT A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WAS 20 MILES
NORTHWEST OF TIPTON IOWA OR 5 MILES WEST OF MECHANICSVILLE IOWA
MOVING EAST AT 45 MILES AN HOUR.  THESE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS HAVE
A HISTORY OF PRODUCING WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MILES AN HOUR.

SOME CITIES/TOWNS IN THE PATH OF THIS STORM INCLUDE... STANWOOD...
MECHANICSVILLE AND TIPTON...LOOK FOR SEVERE WINDS BEFORE NOON.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55 MPH...
DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.  FOR
YOUR PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR OF
YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS.  STAY INSIDE AWAY FROM WINDOWS UNTIL THE
STORM HAS PASSED.

A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA.  REMEMBER
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES
WITH LITTLE OR NO WARNING...SO BE ON THE LOOKOUT AND BE
PREPARED TO MOVE TO A PLACE OF SAFETY IF ONE IS SPOTTED.
