FLASH FLOOD WARNING  EFFECTIVE UNTIL  330 AM CDT (230 AM MDT)
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN SOUTHWEST KANSAS
 
   ...CENTRAL HAMILTON COUNTY
 
AT 1230 AM CDT (1130 PM MDT)...SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUED TO
DUMP EVEN MORE WATER ALONG THE ARKANSAS RIVER VALLEY. TORRENTIAL RAINS
DURING THE PAST HALF AN HOUR HAD BROUGHT FLOOD CONDITIONS ALONG HIGHWAY
50 BETWEEN KENDALL AND SYRACUSE AND EVEN MORE RAIN IS DUE TO FALL DURING
THE NEXT FEW HOURS.
 
HIGHWAY 50 WAS REPORTED TO BE UNDER WATER BETWEEN SYRACUSE AND KENDALL
AND MORE RUN OFF WILL WORSEN THE SITUATION FOR THE NEXT FEW HOURS.
 
REMEMBER...NEVER CROSS A FLOODED ROADWAY IN YOUR VEHICLE.  MORE PEOPLE
DIE IN CARS DURING A FLASH FLOOD THAN ANY OTHER WAY.
 
 
MOST FLOODING DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES... DIPS... OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
