FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1030 PM EDT
FOR THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA
 
   ...CRAWFORD COUNTY...ERIE COUNTY
 
STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WITH HEAVY DOWNPOURS HAVE BEEN MOVING EASTWARD
ACROSS THE WARNED COUNTIES DURING THE EARLY EVENING HOURS.
 
LOCAL SKYWARN OBSERVERS REPORT UP TO AN INCH OF RAIN IN LESS THAN AN
HOUR IN MANY LOCATIONS...THIS IS ENOUGH TO CAUSE FLOODING OF SMALL
STREAMS...CREEKS AND OTHER LOW LYING AREAS.
 
AS OF 715 PM RADAR INDICATED THE HEAVIEST RAINS IN THE EASTERN
SECTIONS OF THE WARNED COUNTIES...HOWEVER...OTHER SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS ARE MOVING ACROSS NORTHERN OHIO AND WILL BE OVER THE
WARNED COUNTIES LATER THIS EVENING.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GtROUND.
