FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1245 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION...
 
IN NORTH CENTRAL CONNECTICUT
 
   ...HARTFORD COUNTY
 
ALTHOUGH THE HEAVIEST RAIN HAS ENDED ACROSS HARTFORD COUNTY...FLOODING
CONTINUES...ESPECIALLY IN SOUTHERN HARTFORD COUNTY. FLOODING HAS BEEN
REPORTED IN BASEMENTS OF HOMES AND BUILDINGS AS WELL AS MANY FLOODED
AND WASHOUT ROADS. COMMUNITIES SUCH AS BERLIN...FARMINGTON...NEW
BRITIAN AND OTHERS HAVE REPORTED FLOODING DUE TO 3 TO 7 INCHES OF RAIN
WITHIN THE PAST 18 HOURS.
 
SMALL STREAMS AND RIVERS SHOULD CREST WITHIN THE NEXT HOUR OR TWO AND
BEGIN TO SUBSIDE BY LATE MORNING AND CONTINUE TO SUBSIDE THIS
AFTERNOON.
 
 
 
A FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
