THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  730 PM MDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN EAST CENTRAL UTAH
 
   ...GRAND COUNTY
 
IN NORTHEAST UTAH
 
   ...SOUTHERN UINTAH COUNTY
 
VERY HEAVY RAINS DURING THE PAST 1-2 HOURS HAVE CAUSED MANY DRY WASHES
TO OVERFLOW ACROSS SOUTHERN UINTAH AND NORTHERN GRAND COUNTY.  THIS
WATER WILL ALSO CAUSE SIMILAR PROBLEMS IN SOUTHERN GRAND COUNTY
SHORTLY.
 
I-70 IN GRAND COUNTY (40 MILES EAST OF GREEN RIVER) HAS WATER RUNNING
1-2 FEET DEEP OVER THE ROADWAY IN MANY LOCATIONS.  SIMILAR PROBLEMS
ARE EXPECTED ON OTHER ROADWAYS IN THE WARNING AREA.
 
THOUGH THE RAIN HAS STOPPED WITHIN THE WARNING AREA...THE FLASH
FLOODING EVENT THREAT WILL LAST FOR THE NEXT 1-2 HOURS.
 
MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A
SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
