THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN AUSTIN HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1230 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS
 
   ...BLANCO COUNTY...SOUTHERN BURNET COUNTY...EASTERN GILLESPIE COUNT   ...SOUTHEASTERN LLANO COUNTY
 
AT 1016 PM CDT...RADAR SHOWED AN AREA OF THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCING VERY
HEAVY RAINFALL FROM THE CITY OF BLANCO TO EAST OF JOHNSON CITY TO EAST
OF MARBLE FALLS. THESE THUNDERSTORMS MOVED THROUGH ENCHANTED ROCK
EARLIER THIS EVENING AND DROPPED AS MUCH AS 5.6 INCHES OF RAIN IN A
SHORT TIME PERIOD.
 
PERSONS ALONG CREEKS AND LOW WATER CROSSINGS IN THE WARNED AREA SHOULD
MOVE IMMEDIATELY TO HIGHER GROUND.  ALTHOUGH THE RAIN MAY HAVE LET UP
IN SOME AREAS...PREVIOUS RAINFALL IS STILL A SERIOUS THREAT AS
WATER CONTINUES TO RUN OFF INTO LOW AREAS.
 
 
MOST DEATHS IN FLASH FLOODING OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A
SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
