THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 730 PM CST FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY

   IN THE NORTH CENTRAL PART OF KANSAS
      OTTAWA

AT 636 PM CST THE SALINE COUNTY SHERIFF DEPARTMENT CONTINUED
TO REPORT FUNNEL CLOUDS IN WEST CENTRAL SALINE COUNTY.
THE CENTER OF THE STORM WAS 15 MILES WEST OF SALINA MOVING
NORTH NORTHEAST AT 40 MPH.

PEOPLE IN THE WARNED AREA SHOULD FIND SHELTER IMMEDIATELY.
BASEMENTS OFFER THE BEST PROTECTION.  SMALL ROOMS NEAR THE
CENTER OF HOMES AND BUILDINGS O"N THE LOWEST FLOOR ARE ALSO FAIRLY
SAFE.  MOBILE HOMES AND VEHICLES OFFER NO SHELTER...SO LEAVE THEM.
EVEN A DITCH OR LOW PLACE IS SAFER THAN A MOBILE HOME OR CAR.

 THIS SEVERE STORM WILL REACH THE MINNEAPOLIS AREA BY 705 PM.
