FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  245 AM EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN EAST CENTRAL ALABAMA

IN WEST CENTRAL GEORGIA

NEARLY 6 INCHES OF RAIN HAS FALLEN AT THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE
IN COLUMBUS SINCE YESTERDAY AND THE HEAVY RAIN IN THE PAST COUPLE
HOURS HAS INCREASED THE RUNOFF ON STREETS AND PROPERTY. MANY REPORTS
OF FLOODING HAVE BEEN RECEIVED. IN COLUMBUS..THE DOWNTOWN AREA AND
GERMANTOWN OFF ST MARYS HAS WIDESPREAD FLOODING. FLOODING HAS REACHED
INTO SOME HOMES AND ADDITIONAL MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN WILL LIKELY
CONTINUE FOR SEVERAL MORE HOURS BEFORE TAPERING OFF. THIS IS A
WARNING.
 
BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOODS AND FLASH FLOODS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS
OBSERVED...ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE UP TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
