FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  700 PM MDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATION......

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SALT LAKE CITY HAS ISSUED A FLASH
FLOOD WARNING FOR ZION NATIONAL PARK IN EASTERN WASHINGTON COUNTY UTAH
UNTIL 7 PM MDT TONIGHT.
 
SATELLITE IMAGERY AND SPOTTERS IN THE VICINITY OF THE PARK INDICATE
THAT VERY HEAVY RAINS HAVE FALLEN RECENTLY AND ARE ABOUT TO BEGIN
AGAIN OVER THE AREA. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT SITUATION FOR NARROW CANYONS
AND SMALL STREAMS TO FLOOD WITHIN THE PARK BOUNDARIES.
 
CAMPERS...HIKERS AND TOURIST SHOULD MOVE TO HIGH GROUND IMMEDIATELY.
FLOODING WILL OCCUR QUICKLY AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO OUTRUN OR
DRIVE AWAY FROM IT. PLAY IT SMART AND STAY OFF THE TRAILS AND CAMPING
AREAS FOR THE NEXT SEVERAL HOURS.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS IMMINENT.  IT'S
IMPORTANT TO KNOW WHERE YOU ARE RELATIVE TO STREAMS...RIVERS...OR
CREEKS WHICH CAN BECOME KILLERS IN HEAVY RAINS.  CAMPERS SHOULD
AVOID CAMPING ALONG STREAMS OR CREEKS DURING THREATENING RAINS.
