THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN COLUMBUS HAS ISSUED A
SMALL STREAM AND URBAN FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 600 PM EST
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...

IN SOUTH CENTRAL OHIO

IN SOUTHEAST OHIO
...ATHENS...MORGAN...MUSKINGUM...PERRY
RAINFALL AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 1-2 INCHES HAVE BEEN REPORTED OVER MOST
OF CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN OHIO. THE RAIN HAS CAUSED MANY STREAMS AND
CREEKS TO OVERFLOW THEIR BANKS. THERE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF
ROAD CLOSINGS DUE TO HIGH WATER IN CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN OHIO THIS
AFTERNOON.
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE RADAR SHOWED RAIN CONTINUING TO MOVE ACROSS
THE REGION. THE RAIN WAS MOVING NORTHEAST AROUND 30 MPH AND WILL FALL
ON GROUND THAT IS ALREADY SATURATED. THE ADDITIONAL RAIN WILL CAUSE
FLOODING PROBLEMS TO CONTINUE THROUGH EARLY TONIGHT.
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO mAREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY. VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATER SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
