THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN ATLANTIC CITY HAS ISSUED A
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING AND
SPECIAL MARINE WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  800 PM EDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
 
IN SOUTH NEW JERSEY
          ...ATLANTIC...CAPE MAY...CUMBERLAND...OCEAN
 
AND ADJACENT COASTAL WATERS.
 
 
AT 650 PM EDT WEATHER SERVICE RADAR INDICATED A LINE OF SEVERE
THUNDERSTORMS WAS LOCATED FROM JUST EAST OF PHILADELPHIA PENNSYLVANIA
TO 15 MILES NORTHWEST OF MILLVILLE NEW JERSEY. THIS LINE OF
THUNDERSTORMS HAS PRODUCED WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 50 MILES AN HOUR
AND VERY HEAVY RAINS IN A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME. NUMEROUS DOWNED TREE
LIMBS HAVE BEEN REPORTED THESE STORMS.
 
 
A TORNADO WATCH IS ALSO IN EFFECT FOR THE WARNED AREA.  REMEMBER
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE TORNADOES
WITH LITTLE OR NO ADVANCE WARNING.  REMAIN CALM BUT BE ALERT TO
RAPIDLY CHANGING WEATHER CONDITIONS.
 
SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS PRODUCE DAMAGING WIND IN EXCESS OF 55
MPH...DESTRUCTIVE HAIL...DEADLY LIGHTNING...AND VERY HEAVY RAIN.
FOR YOUR PROTECTION MOVE TO AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR
OF YOUR HOME OR BUSINESS.  HEAVY RAINS FLOOD ROADS QUICKLY SO
DON'T DRIVE INTO AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS THE ROAD.
