THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 645 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING 
COUNTIES

   IN THE SOUTH CENTRAL PART OF MINNESOTA
      SOUTHEAST WATONWAN...NORTHEAST MARTIN...SOUTHWEST BLUE 
      EARTH

THIS WARNING INCLUDES THE COMMUNITIES OF TRUMAN...WILLOW CREEK AND
NORTHRUP.

AT 6 10 PM A TORNADO WAS REPORTED TO HAVE TOUCHED DOWN SOUTHEAST OF
ST JAMES...ABOUT 30 MILES SOUTHWEST OF MANKATO.  MOVEMENT WAS TO THE
SOUTHEAST AT 20 MILES AN HOUR.

IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...THE SAFEST PLACE IS A
BASEMENT.  GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE.
IF NO BASEMENT IS AVAILABLE...SEEK SHELTER IN AN INTERIOR ROOM ON
THE LOWEST FLOOR.  USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO COVER YOUR BODY.
AVOID WINDOWS.  ABANDON CARS AND MOBILE HOMES FOR A REINFORCED
BUILDING OR GET INTO A DITCH OR CULVERT.
