THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN MINNEAPOLIS HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  600 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
 
IN WEST CENTRAL WISCONSIN
          ...CHIPPEWA...DUNN...EAU CLAIRE
 
HEAVY RAIN PRODUCING THUNDERSTORMS WERE DEVELOPING ONCE AGAIN ACROSS
WESTERN WISCONSIN. AT 1PM THE STRONGEST STORMS RAN FROM JUST NORTH OF
CHIPPEWA FALLS IN CHIPPEWA COUNTY INTO THE BALDWIN AREA OF ST CROIX
COUNTY TO THE SOUTHEAST PORTIONS OF THE TWIN CITIES METRO AREA.
 
VERY HEAVY RAINS FELL LAST NIGHT AND EARLY THIS MORNING ACROSS
PORTIONS OF NORTHERN EAU CLAIRE COUNTY AND INTO CHIPPEWA COUNTY.
 
THERE HAVE BEEN REPORTS OF NUMEROUS ROAD AND BRIDGE WASHOUTS JUST
NORTH AND EAST OF THE CITY OF EAU CLAIRE.  WITH NEW THUNDERSTORMS
MOVING ACROSS THIS SAME AREA THIS AFTERNOON THE THREAT IS HIGH THAT
FLOODING PROBLEMS COULD BECOME MORE SEVERE.
 
SOME CITIES INCLUDED IN THIS FLASH FLOOD WARNING ARE....EAU CLAIRE...
MENOMONIE...CHIPPEWA FALLS.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS THAT FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS
IMMINENT.  MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT
ATTEMPT TO CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY.  NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL
ONE...ON FOOT.  TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE UP TO HIGHER GROUND.
