THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAKE CHARLES HAS ISSUED A
TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  845 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS...
 
IN SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA
 
   ...CALCASIEU PARISH
 
AT 736 PM...THE LAKE CHARLES CITY POLICE REPORTED A FUNNEL CLOUD
JUST SOUTH OF THE CITY OF LAKE CHARLES.
 
AT 742...RADAR SHOWED A LINE OF THUNDERSTORMS THAT EXTENDED FROM JUST
EAST OF LEESVILLE...TO THE LAKE CHARLES AREA...INTO THE GULF TO 60
MILES SOUTH OF HIGH ISLAND.  THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING EAST AT 20
MILES AN HOUR.
 
THIS IS A DANGEROUS STORM SITUATION.  ACT QUICKLY.  IF YOU ARE
IN THE PATH OF THIS TORNADO MOVE TO A SHELTER IMMEDIATELY.
GO TO A SMALL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR POSSIBLE. AVOID
WINDOWS.  ABANDON CARS AND MOBILE HOMES FOR A REINFORCED BUILDING
OR GET INTO A DITCH OR CULVERT.
