000 TTAA00 KLCH 272209 TORLCH LAC019-272300- BULLETIN - EBS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LAKE CHARLES LA 507 PM CDT SUN MAY 27 1990 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LAKE CHARLES HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 600 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING LOCATIONS... IN SOUTHWEST LOUISIANA ...CALCASIEU PARISH AT 500 PM CDT A PUBLIC REPORT OF A TORNADO NEAR HAZEL STREET IN SULPHUR LOUISIANA. TREES WERE REPORTED DOWN IN THE AREA. RADAR SHOWED STRONG THUNDERSTROMS MOVING ACROSS THE SULPHUR AND LAKE CHARLES AREAS. THE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 35 MPH. VERY STRONG WINDS CAN BE EXPECTED WITH THIS STORM IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...SEEK SHELTER IN A NEARBY REINFORCED BUILDING. GET UNDER A PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE PREFERABLY IN AN INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR. USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO COVER YOUR BODY. AVOID WINDOWS.
