THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SIOUX FALLS HAS ISSUED A
FLASH FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL  100 AM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
 
IN SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA
          ...COTTONWOOD...JACKSON...LINCOLN...LYON...MURRAY...NOBLES
 
WIDESPREAD HEAVY RAINFALL OF 3 TO 6 INCHES HAD FALLEN AND WAS
CONTINUING TO FALL OVER THE AREA. STREAMS AND CREEKS WERE REPORTED TO
BE FLOODING AS WELL AS MAJOR STREET AND URBAN FLOODING. RAIN IS
EXPECTED TO CONTINUE TO FALL FOR ANOTHER 1 TO 2 HOURS.
 
THE VIADUCT ON HIGHWAY 60 UNDER INTERSTATE 90 WAS COMPLETELY FLOODED.
MANY CARS WERE REPORTED TO BE UNDER WATER.
 
A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS FLASH FLOODING IS OCCURING OR IS
IMMINENT. ACT QUICKLY TO SAVE YOURSELF. GET OUT OF LOWLAND AREAS
SUBJECT TO FLOODING. AVOID ALREADY FLOODED AREAS. CAMPERS ALONG
STREAMS AND SMALL RIVERS SHOULD MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
 
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY.  THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO
CROSS SAFELY.  VEHICLES CAUGHT IN RISING WATERo SHOULD BE
ABANDONED QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
