TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1030 PM CDT
FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES...
 
IN SOUTH CENTRAL IOWA
          ...SOUTHEASTERN MONROE
IN SOUTHEAST IOWA
          ...WESTERN WAPELLO
 
AT 952 PM...A TORNADO WAS REPORTED ON THE GROUND NEAR BLAKESBURG. THIS
IS ALONG THE MONROE...WAPELLO COUNTY LINE...SOME 10 TO 15 MILES WEST
SOUTHWEST OF OTTUMWA.
 
THE STORM WAS NEARLY STATIONARY...AND WILL BE AFFECTING THE CITY OF
BLAKESBURG.  CURRENT INDICATIONS ARE THAT THE STORM SHOULD MISS THE
OTTUMWA AREA.
 
IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...THE SAFEST PLACE IS A
BASEMENT.  GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR PIECE OF STURDY FURNITURE.
