THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM 
AND SPECIAL MARINE WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 130 AM EDT FOR 
PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY

   IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK
      SOUTHERN CHAUTAUQUA

...THIS WARNING ALSO INCLUDES THE ADJACENT LAKE WATERS FOR THE   
COUNTY JUST MENTIONED

AT 1215AM BUFFALO RADAR DETECTED A LINE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS
THAT EXTENDED FROM RIPLEY...WESTWARD TO 10 MILES NORTHWEST OF
ERIE PENNSYLVANIA.

THESE THUNDERSTORMS WERE MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 50 MILES AN HOUR.
BECAUSE SEVERAL THUNDERSTORMS COULD TRAVEL OVER ONE AREA...THERE
IS GREATER RISK OF LOCALIZED FLOODING WITH THESE STORMS.

BE ON THE ALERT FOR THUNDERSTORMS ACCOMPANIED BY FREQUENT LIGHTNING
STRONG DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL.  LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN MAY ALSO
CAUSE DRAINAGE FLOODING.
