THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS EXTENDED THE URBAN AND SMALL STREAM
FLOOD WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 200 AM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN
THE FOLLOWING COUNTY

   IN THE WEST CENTRAL PART OF NEW JERSEY
      MERCER

WEATHER SERVICE RADAR AT 925 PM INDICATED HEAVY RAIN OVER MUCH OF MERCER
COUNTY IN WEST CENTRAL NEW JERSEY.  GROUND CONDITIONS REMAIN SATURATED
FROM HEAVY RAIN WHICH FELL EARLIER TODAY...AND SIGNIFICANT RUNOFF WILL
CONTINUE SIGNIFICANT URBAN AND SMALL STREAM FLOODING IN MERCER COUNTY
UNTIL EARLY THURSDAY MORNING.

MANY STREAM AND CREEKS LEVELS IN MERCER COUNTY ARE ALREADY ABOVE FLOOD
STAGE...AND THE ADDITIONAL HEAVY RAIN WILL CAUSE FURTHER RISES IN STREAM
LEVELS.  AN AUTOMATIC STREAM GAUGE ON THE ASSUNPINK CREEK AT TRENTON
INDICATED A LEVEL OF 8.87 FEET AT 925 PM.  FLOOD STAGE ON THE ASSUNPINK
AT TRENTON IS 7.00 FEET.  THE ASSUNPINK CREEK AT TRENTON IS EXPECTED TO
CREST AT A LEVEL AROUND 9.50 FEET BY MIDNIGHT...AND THEN FALL BACK BELOW
FLOOD STAGE EARLY THURSDAY MORNING.

IF YOU LIVE IN MERCER COUNTY IN AN AREA SUBJECT TO FLOODING...PLEASE
MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY.  DO NOT DRIVE THROUGH FLOOD WATERS.
CLIMBING ATOP YOUR STALLED VEHICLE WILL NOT PREVENT YOU FROM BEING SWEPT
INTO DANGEROUS STREAM CONDITIONS AS WATER LEVELS RISE.r
