FLASH FLOOD WARNING AND SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PITTSBURGH PA
844 PM EDT THU JUN 22 1989

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN PITTSBURGH HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD
WARNING UNTIL MIDNIGHT FOR BOTH ALLEGHENY AND BUTLER COUNTIES IN
SOUTHWESTERN PENNSYLVANIA.

AT 840 PM MORE THAN 2 INCHES OF RAIN WAS REPORTED WITH THIS STORM IN
NORTHEASTERN ALLEGHENY COUNTY. THIS WILL CAUSE SEVERE FLOODING IN
ALLEGHENY COUNTY...WHICH MAY SPILL OVER INTO BUTLER COUNTY BEFORE
MIDNIGHT. FLOODING WAS REPORTED IN THE ETNA MILLVALE AREA. CARS ARE
STALLED ON ROADS. FIREMEN ARE PUMPING WATER FROM BASEMENTS. DO NOT
DRIVE THROUGH FLOODED AREAS. MO1VE TO HIGHER GROUND TO SAVE YOURSELF.

ALSO...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING IS IN EFFECT TIL 10 PM FOR BOTH
ALLEGHENY AND BUTLER COUNTIES. DAMAGING WIND AND DANGEROUS LIGHTNING
ARE POSSIBLE.
