THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 700 PM EDT FOR PERSONS IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES IN

SOUTH FLORIDA...OKECHOBEE INCLUDING LAKE OKECHOBEE

AFTERNOON THUNDERSTORMS CONTINUE TO INTENSIFY AROUND THE LAKE AND
WESTERN OKEECHOBBEE COUNTY. SOME INDICATING POTENTIAL FOR DAMAGING
WINDS AND HAIL AND SEVERE LIGHTNING STRIKES.

THEY WERE ALONG A NARROW LINE FROM NEAR CLEWISTON NORTHWARD ALONG
THE WESTERN PORTIONS OF THE LAKE TO WEST AND NORTHWEST OF OKEECHOBEE
CITY. THEY WERE MOVING NORTHEAST AROUND 20 MPH.

BOATERS ON THE LAKE SHOULD SEEK OR STAY IN SAFE HARBOR UNTIL THESE
THUNDERSTORMS PASS.
