THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 245 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY

   IN THE EAST CENTRAL PART OF ILLINOIS
      EASTERN COLES

AT 2 10 MP CDT THE COLES COUNTY ESDA REPORTED A FUNNEL CLOUD JUST
TO THE NORTHEAST OF CHARLESTON IN CENTRAL COLES COUNTY. THE FUNNEL
WAS MOVING TOWARD THE EAST AND NORTHEAST AT 35 TO 40 MPH.

FUNNEL CLOUDS CAN AND OCCASIONALLY DO PRODUCE A TORNADO WITH LITTLE
OR NO ADVANCE WARNING...SO BE ON THE LOOKOUT AND BE PREPARED TO MOVE
TO A PLACE OF SAFETY.

IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF A TORNADO...GO TO A BASEMENT SHELTER
IF AVAILABLE...OTHERWISE TO A CENTRAL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST
FLOOR.  ABANDON CARS AND MOBILE HOMES FOR A REINFORCED BUILDING.
