NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE ERIE PA
1130 PM EDT THU JUN 22 1989

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 400 AM EDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY

   IN THE NORTHWEST PART OF PENNSYLVANIA
      MCKEAN

AT 1120 PM EDT UP TO 2 INCHES OF RAIN WAS REPORTED NEAR BRADFORD
IN MCKEAN COUNTY.  THE HAVE BEEN NUMEROUS REPORTS OF STREET AND
BASEMENT FLOODING IN BRADFORD AND AREAS JUST TO THE NORTH. BECAUSE
THE THUNDERSTORMS ARE MOVING VERY SLOWLY TO THE EAST...FLOODING
IS LIKELY TO CONTINUE FOR SEVERAL MORE HOURS AND STREAMS WILL
CONTINUE TO RISE.

A FLASH FLOOD WARNING MEANS FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR IS IMMINENT.
MOST FLASH FLOOD DEATHS OCCUR IN AUTOMOBILES.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO
CROSS BRIDGES...DIPS...OR LOW SPOTS IF WATER COVERS THE ROADWAY.
NEVER TRY TO CROSS A FLOWING STREAM...EVEN A SMALL ONE...ON FOOT.
TO ESCAPE RISING WATER MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.

BE ESPECIALLY CAUTIOUS AT NIGHT WHEN IT IS HARDER TO RECOGNIZE
THE DANGERS OF FLOOD WATERS.  IF FLASH FLOODING IS OBSERVED...
ACT QUICKLY.  MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND TO ESCAPE FLOOD WATERS.  DO
NOT STAY IN AREAS SUBJECT TO FLOODING WHEN WATER BEGINS RISING.
