000 TTAA00 KGRI 180113 TORGRI NEC081-180140- BULLETIN - IMMEDIATE BROADCAST REQUESTED/EBS ACTIVATION REQUESTED TORNADO WARNING NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE GRAND ISLAND NE 813 PM CDT MON AUG 17 1987 THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 840 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY OF SOUTH CENTRAL NEBRASKA...HAMILTON AT 810 PM RADAR INDICATED A POSSIBLE TORNADO NEAR GRAND ISLAND MOVING SOUTHEAST AT 25 MILES AN HOUR. THIS WARNING INCLUDES THE TOWNS OF AURORA...GLITNER...AND PHILLIPS. IF YOU ARE IN THE PATH OF THIS TORNADO TAKE SHELTER IN A BASEMENT IF AVAILABLE. OTHERWISE GO TO A SMALL INTERIOR ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR. ABANDON CARS AND MOBILE HOMES FOR A REINFORCED BUILDING. PEOPLE IN THE PATH OF THIS TORNADO SHOULD TAKE COVER IMMEDIATELY TO SAVE YOUR LIVES. DAMAGE REPORTS OF OBSERVED SEVERE WEATHER SHOULD BE GIVEN TO A LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY FOR RELAY TO THE WEATHER SERVICE. IN ADDITION TO THE THREAT OF TORNADOES... LARGE HAIL...
