THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WARNING 
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 1000 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTIES OF

SOUTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...CLINTON AND MARION

AT 710 PM CDT THE MARION COUNTY ILLINOIS CIVIL DEFENSE REPORTED
STREET AND ROAD FLOODING FROM SALEM ILLINOIS EASTWARD TO IUKA
ILLINOIS. SECTIONS OF ROUTE U.S. 50 WAS REPORTED UNDERWATER.  THESE
CONDITIONS RESULTED FROM SEVERAL HEAVY DOWNPOURS..2 TO 3 INCHES IN
LOCAL AREAS.

THE ST LOUIS RADAR INDICATED THAT THUNDERSTORMS WITH LOCALLY HEAVY
RAINS WILL CONTINUE ACROSS CLINTON AND MARION COUNTIES UNTIL 9 PM
CDT THIS EVENING.

BE ALERT FOR RAPIDLY RISING WATER.  STAY AWAY FROM FLOODING CREEKS..
STREAMS AND STORM DRAINS.  DO NOT ATTEMPT TO WALK OR DRIVE THROUGH
FLOWING WATER.
