NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDIANAPOLIS IN
500 PM EST TUE MAY 6 1986

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM
WARNING EFFECTIVE UNTIL 525 PM EST FOR PEOPLE IN TIPPECANOE COUNTY
OF WEST CENTRAL INDIANA.

AT 455 PM EST...RADAR SHOWED A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM JUST WEST OF
LAFAYETTE. THE MOST INTENSE PART OF THE STORM WILL PASS JUST NORTH
OF THE CITY. THIS STORM CAN PRODUCE STRONG WINDS AND LARGE HAIL AS
WELL AS INTENSE LIGHTNING.

SUCH A STORM COULD ALSO PRODUCE A SMALL TORNADO WITH LITTLE OR NO
ADVANCE WARNING.

IF SEVERE WEATHER THREATENS TAKE COVER IMMEDIATELY.
