THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED A TORNADO WARNING
EFFECTIVE UNTIL 645 PM CDT FOR PEOPLE IN THE FOLLOWING COUNTY OF

CENTRAL IOWA...NORTHEAST JASPER

AT 607 PM...A TORNADO WAS 6 MILES NORTH OF NEWTON CROSSING
HIGHWAY 14.  THE TORNADO WAS SPOTTED BY SEVERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT
OFFICERS.  THIS WOULD BE ABOUT 35 MILES NORTHEAST OF DES MOINES...
NORTH OF INTERSTATE 80.

THE STORM WAS MOVING EAST AT 35 MILES AN HOUR.

THIS WARNING INCLUDES THE TOWN OF NEWBURG AND ROCK CREEK COUNTY
PARK.

THIS WARNING EXTENDS THE PREVIOUS TORNADO WARNING FOR JASPER
AND TERMINATES THE WARNING FOR MARSHALL.

IF A TORNADO APPROACHES..TAKE COVER IMMEDIATELY.  A BASEMENT..
INTERIOR HALLWAY..OR A ROOM ON THE LOWEST FLOOR IS THE SAFEST PLACE
