The cool air is arriving almost in time for the start of fall, which begins at 8:04 pm EDT Tuesday. Air quality is well down inside the good range and will continue to be so through the forecast period. Here are the forecast details: *** Tuesday’s forecast: Mostly cloudy with a cool wind Tuesday. An easterly wind will keep ozone and PM2.5 concentrations low. Highs will top out around 60 degrees. *** Extended forecast: High pressure working it’s way southwestward from Canada will allow for seasonably cool and dry conditions later this week. Temperatures will moderate some by the weekend with air quality possibly deteriorating a bit Saturday or Sunday due to less mixing and morning inversions. Air quality, however, should remain in the good range.---McAuliffe
